Premium multislice CT scanner<br />
The Aquilion 64 system is a multi-slice CT scanner with the ability to simultaneously acquire 64 slices 0.5 mm thick in a full 0.5 second revolution.<br />
The Aquilion 64 is excellent for brain and whole body imaging, including cardiac and vascular imaging, and especially for high volume data acquisition with a single breath hold, such as multiple trauma, pulmonary embolism and oncology.</p>
<p><strong>The main advantages of Aquilion 64</strong></p>
<p>Logically thought-out design, the use of new technology and? high quality materials make the Aquilion system a harmonious system in which all parts fit perfectly together.</p>
<p>The Aquilion system gantry has a direct electric drive. The beltless design ensures quiet, vibration-free rotation at very high speeds. The specially shaped gantry incorporates the key components of multi-slice technology: a 7.5 MHU Megacool X-ray tube with a high cooling rate combined with a 60 kW generator and a Quantum high performance multi-row detector with over 57,000 channels.</p>
<p>Expansion of the scan range allows you to explore a larger anatomical area in a shorter time, which allows efficient use of the 64-slice system in cardiovascular studies and studies of patients with trauma.</p>
<p>Aquilion systems, thanks to the unique Quantum detector system, have been able to acquire true isotropic voxels since their first introduction in 1999. Aquilion 64 creates a volume of 64 x 0.5 mm slices per rotation with an effective voxel resolution of 0.35 mm to visualize the finest detail, complex anatomical structures such as coronary arteries. Aquilion 64 explores large anatomical areas without sacrificing visualization of the smallest details.</p>
<p>Due to the fact that large volumes are examined with a single scan, the angle of X-ray radiation is constantly changing. To maintain accuracy throughout the entire volume scan, the Aquilion 64 uses Toshiba's patented advanced TCOT reconstruction algorithm, which has been modified to operate in 64-slice acquisition mode.</p>
<p>Acquiring 64 high-resolution slices with isotropic voxels creates huge datasets. Fast, accurate transfer of information from the detector to the data processing system is vital, and because the gantry is in constant rotation, data must be transferred without physical contact.</p>
<p>Routine studies using 0.5 mm isotropic voxels can generate thousands of axial images per study. Aquilion 64 transitions to the volumetric image, creating volumetric datasets that are not limited to only the axial plane. Instant viewing in multiplanar reconstruction mode and reconstruction of images at a very high speed become possible with a simple interface for working with data. Intelligent zoom and mouse browsing enable easy navigation through the data volume, allowing accurate diagnosis to be made in the shortest possible time. Automated Exam Protocols allow users to create automated scan plans, including the creation of multiplanar reconstructions and multiple paths for distributing data across an entire exam.</p>
<p>The technology behind the Aquilion 64 maximizes dose efficiency with a reduced X-ray tube with a reduced number of out-of-focus X-rays and a detector that delivers the best possible image quality at the lowest dose. To further enhance patient safety, the Aquilion 64 has several additional features such as Configured Filters, Quantum denoising software, SureExposure and Boost3D to ensure efficient examinations at the lowest dose.</p>
<p>The real-time CT fluoroscopy feature is part of the extensive real-time CT software packages. SureScan and SureStart features are standard on the Aquilion system. These properties provide a real-time display of 12 images per second for spiral scanning. SureScan allows data collection to be terminated immediately as soon as the target ROI is reached, reducing dose per patient and saving time. SureStart software provides optimal contrast capture for contrast-enhanced studies by automatically starting a scan after a preset Hounsfield density in the ROI is reached, configured to collect real-time data with low mAs.
